One of the things we really love about the 2016 Mazda3 here at Heritage Mazda Towson is its emphasis on making you one with the driving experience. Well, it seems that experience is going to get even better in the 2017 Mazda3, which the automaker recently released and which will be available here in the U.S. later this year!
It’s all part of the automaker’s goal to enhance the bond that you feel when you drive your car. Mazda calls it Jinba Ittai, and it’s an increased feeling of satisfaction every time you get behind the wheel. It comes from their development and design philosophy which focuses on the relationship between humans and their cars in terms of psychology and physiology, and the way drivers actually use and drive their cars, rather than focusing on metrics or measurements.
And Mazda does it with many new technologies that are integrated into their SKYACTIV®-VEHICLE DYNAMICS series of technologies. The first of those new technologies is G-Vectoring Control (GVC), which is included in the 2017 Mazda3. GVC integrates responses from the vehicle’s steering system to vary engine performance, to help control longitudinal and lateral forces on each wheel. With optimized forces acting on each wheel, the driving experience is smoother and more enjoyable. Handling is also improved especially on less than ideal surfaces.
“Mazda is striving to become an irreplaceable presence in the lives of our customers, to create a special bond with them and to be a ‘one-and-only’ brand they will choose again and again… In order to do that, we will continue updating our models with next-generation technologies based on our human-centered development philosophy, without concern for the timing of redesigns,” said Masamichi Kogai, President and CEO of Mazda.
