This year, we’re celebrating Mazda’s 100th birthday. Though it may be hard to believe that our favorite automaker has been around a whole century, they have endured changing times and come out stronger than ever.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, Mazda is releasing a special 100th Anniversary Edition of one of the cars that got them started in the automotive industry, the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Remembering the Roots of MAZDA
The Mazda R360 Coupe was Mazda’s first passenger vehicle and be said to be the origin of the Mazda development philosophy. This 1960s-era vehicle was a symbol of the Mazda dream and the challenger spirit of Mazda.
In order to commemorate this legendary vehicle, Mazda is releasing a special version of the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Only a limited amount of these new Mazda cars will be released, and they will be available for purchase starting this fall.
100th Anniversary Edition Mazda MX-5 Miata Features
Compared to the standard edition of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the 100th Anniversary Edition has a number of features that set it apart. First, the sports convertible will be offered in Snowflake White Pearl Mica and will be paired with Red Nappa leather seats with matching red accents that are inspired by the original R360 coupe that started it all.
Additional features include:- 100th Anniversary badges and logos
- Red cloth convertible top
- 17-inch Alloy wheels with 100th Anniversary wheel cap
- 100th Anniversary key fob
- Leather-wrapped shift knob
Like all other versions of the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata, the special edition will have an iconic soft top that can be unlocked and lowered easily with one hand.
